Wild Willows — Age Suitability
Wild Willows is a cozy nature-restoration game: you gather fallen materials, craft and plant habitat, and watch real animals return as the land recovers. It is designed to be suitable for all ages.

What the game contains
- Gentle, non-violent play. There is no combat, no enemies, and no way to fail. Animals are observed and welcomed home — never hunted, harmed, captured, or lost. Nothing dies.
- Educational nature content. Every animal comes with a real-world fact, and an in-game weather & seasons guide explains real ecology in plain language, grounded in credible sources (USGS, NOAA, NPS, Audubon, and similar).
- Mild ambient weather only. Rain, storms, fog, snow, and heat are visual atmosphere — they never threaten the player or the animals.
- Simple friendly art. All visuals are soft, procedurally generated shapes; there is no realistic, frightening, or graphic imagery.
What the game does not contain
- No violence, blood, or scary content
- No profanity, crude humor, or mature themes
- No alcohol, tobacco, or drug references
- No gambling, simulated or otherwise
- No advertising of any kind
- No in-app purchases, loot boxes, or microtransactions
- No chat, social features, or user-generated content from other players (the Mac App Store build is solo-only)
- No account, sign-in, or personal information required to play
Online features
The game is fully playable offline. When online, it sends only anonymous gameplay statistics (play time, items crafted, animals returned) so I can improve the game — nothing personal, and nothing is shown to or shared with other players. An optional feedback form in Settings sends a message privately to the developer; it is the only free-text input that leaves the device, and including an email address is optional. Full details are in the privacy policy.
If a future update enables the optional co-op mode (web version), players join a shared world only by invite code with the host's explicit approval, and other players see just a chosen caretaker name and character — there is no chat system.
For parents
Wild Willows has no mechanisms that pressure play: no timers that punish absence (a world you leave is exactly where you left it), no daily-login streaks to lose, no purchases to make, and no strangers to encounter. If you have any questions, email [email protected].
